Working Together
This project was based on the understanding of different outerwear archetypes, with this one being the parka. I did extensive research one what makes up a parka and the design codes that are essential to make it a classic parka. I also looking into how brands now have reworked the jacket into something new and innovative. I decided to focus on the drawstrings, eyelets, patch pockets, fishtail back, and hood. I also combined these classic details with the idea of Balenciaga’s semi fitted garments and having two pieces working together. So I designed a coat and jacket that interact with the drawstrings and can be pulled in different ways. The same thing with a mini and maxi skirt with the same parka details.
